On December 23^rd, the First Meeting of National Standard Drafting Group for “Inspection and Evaluation of In-service Polyethylene Gas Pipeline” was held in CSEI Shunyi branch through the online and offline meeting. The responsible department for standard drafting is China Standardization Committee on Boilers and Pressure Vessels and China Nature Gas Standardization Technology Committee under Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the experts and representatives from 21 units attended the meeting.

This meeting was hosted by CSEI vice president He Renyang. CSEI Pressure Pipeline Department reported the background, domestic and abroad status quo and main content of standard drafting. The participating experts fully expressed their opinions and suggestions on the standards scope, general thoughts, risk assessment, inspection and evaluation, drafting task division and work plan.

In recent years, the proportion of polyethylene pipeline in gas pipeline field has increased gradually, but there is no relevant standards on regular inspection and evaluation . The formulation of this standard will fill the gap in the industry and has great significance to standardize the inspection and evaluation of polyethylene gas pipelines.
