The 5th congress of China Boiler and Boiler Water Treatment Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) and related meetings were held successfully in Suzhou from August 11 to 12, 2020.

Zhang Hongwei, Deputy Director of the Special Equipment Safety Supervision Bureau of State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), Guo Yuanliang, Executive Chairman of Presidium, the Fourth Council Director of Association and the Party Secretary and Vice President of China Special Equipment Inspection & Research Institute (CSEI), Li Jun, Vice President of CSEI, Leng Hao, Division Director of the Boiler and Energy-Saving Environmental Protection of Special Equipment Safety Supervision Bureau of SAMR attended the opening ceremony, a total of 373 members from all over the country joined the meeting.

Zhang Hongwei, emphasized at the meeting: with the application of new technologies, new materials and new processes in recent years, boiler production and using situation has become increasingly complex. The boiler safety risk is still high and the boiler safety supervision work is facing new challenges.

Li Jun , gave full affirmation and high evaluation to the work of the fourth council of association and put forward three suggestions: firstly, it is necessary to define the development direction and play a more important role; secondly, it is necessary to have a clear understanding of development trend and guide the development of our career with innovation; thirdly, it is necessary to grasp the trend and promote the development of the industry to a new height in the period of social and economic transformation and development.

This meeting also held the first award ceremony of Boiler Science and Technology Award. A total of 64 projects were evaluated, 36 of which were selected strictly in accordance with the requirements of the State Office of Science and Technology Awards and the measures of rewarding of Association.

Qiu Jiayou, new Council Director, delivered a speech entitled "Taking the road of innovation, sharing and development to promote China boiler and water treatment industry to a new level" and defined the task of association combing the current situation. He said we’ll work hard to make more progress powered by "shoulder the mission to a new journey" and aimed at "assume the responsibility to a new brilliant".
