2015 World Conference on Acoustic Emission (or WCAE-2015 for short) was held in Hawaii, America during November 10 to 13. The Chairman of the conference Allen Green hosted the opening ceremony, Shen Gongtian, the Director-General of International Society on Acoustic Emission, the Director-General of Non-destructive Testing Institution of China Mechanical Engineering Society and the Vice President of CSEI gave welcome addresses, the Deputy Chief Engineer of CSEI Tao Xuerong and Li Bangxian as well as the Director of R&D Management Department of CSEI Li Guanghai attended the ceremony. 56 delegates from 12 countries were present at the meeting, 34 papers were collected among which 3 papers were invited lecture and 30 papers were oral presentation.
This conference was hosted by the International Society on Acoustic Emission (hereinafter referred to as ISAE), organized by Allen Green of American Acoustic Emission Technology Consulting Co. Ltd. and Professor Qi Gang of the University of Memphis. Researcher Shen Gongtian of CSEI was appointed as chairman of the conference technical committee, Researcher Li Bangxian as secretary-general, Shen Gongtian, Wu Zhanwen, Tao Xuerong, Li Guanghai, Zhang Junjiao as the member of organizing committee and secretariat. As the secretariat of this meeting and ISAE, CSEI assisted with conference registration and proceedings.
At the meeting, Researcher Shen Gongtian made the invited lecture Research Development on Acoustic Emission Detection for China Pressure Vessel, Researcher Li Guanghai and Doctor Wu Zhanwen made the presentation respectively titled Acoustic Emission Characteristics under 12MnNiVR Corrosion Environment, Study on Acoustic Emission Characteristics for Harbor Portal Crane, and Application Study on Acoustic Emission Detection for Amusement Devices Spindle System. Shen Gongtain, Li Bangxian and Li Guanghai hosted the meeting as session chair respectively.
During the meeting, Director-General Shen Gongtian hosted the ISAE Executive Board meeting and committee conference, reported the situation of ISAE committee members and passed the minutes of WCAE-2013(Shanghai). Non-destructive Testing Institution of China Mechanical Engineering Society and CSEI applied together for holding the 2017 World Conference on Acoustic Emission at Xi’an in October, 2017, which was voted through at the committee conference.
World Conference on Acoustic Emission was held every two years, which was an important international academic conference, all the conference proceedings were collected by EI. During this meeting, delegates communicated and discussed with each other on new theory, new device, new research direction and new application objects of Acoustic Emission.
