ASME BPV Volume II (Material) China International Working Group (CIWG BPV II) Code Week was hosted by CSEI on July 27 in Chengdu. Mr. Shou Binan, Vice-president & Chief Engineer of CSEI hosted this activity. Mr. Mark Sheehan, Chief Inspector of Code and Development of ASME, Mr. Ralph Hill, the present President and Mr. Richard Barnes, the former President of Volume III (Nuclear power) of ASME, Mr. Clayton Smith, expert from Fluor Nuclear Power, Mr. Christian Sanna, Manager of ASME Nuclear Power Code Department & Asia Affairs Liaison, Mr. John Bendo, Business Manager of ASME Nuclear Power, and related persons from France Electrical attended the meeting. The Volume II working group members, a part of members from Volume III working group and persons from domestic standardization organization, steel mill, and persons from design, manufacture, and use units attended the meeting.

During the Code Week, the representatives discussed and approved the modification suggestion from working group, summarized the work of previous stage, and put forward several proposals for the future work development, including bringing China mature material into ASME code, at the same time, absorbing ASME mature material into related China standard, which will enhance the international competitiveness of the domestic product, and enlarge ASME’s influence in China.
