On June 30, 2017, after all the members of the ISO/TC 135 Nondestructive Detection Technical Committee unanimous vote, China becomes the undertaking country of the ISO/TC 135/SC 9 (Acoustic Emission Test) International Standardization Technical Committee Secretariat. This is the first time China undertakes the secretariat of International Standardization Technical Committee in the nondestructive testing industry. At the same time, CSEI became the undertaker of ISO/TC 135/SC 9 Secretariat.

CSEI as a pioneer in the field of acoustic emission testing in china, vice president of CSEI Shen Gongtian led the research team for years at the forefront of acoustic emission detection technology research, and made a number of significant achievements and won the National Science and Technology Progress Award and many other honors; In the field of international cooperation, the International Acoustic Emission Society was launched in 2011, which aims to participate in the work of international standardization and has a high impact in the field of international acoustic emission.

China undertaking the Secretariat of the International Technical Committee of Acoustic Emission Standardization proved China’s NDT technique is developing from a big country to a strong country; it has a significance sense to promote China"s international status and influence in the field of acoustic emission. China"s NDT industry will take this as an opportunity to make greater contribution to the development of NDT technology in the world.
