On 17th Feb, Mr. Gao Jixuan, Deputy Director of SESA of AQSIQ, and Executive Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Philip signed the agreement of Global Environment Facility’s (GEF) “Industrial Heating System and High Energy Efficiency Promote project”, which officially entered the implementation stage. Relevant personnel from SESA, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and CSEI attended the meeting.

This project will receive about $6 million in grants to carry out a number of activities including the improvement of energy conservation policies, regulations and technical standards for high energy consuming special equipment, to improve the working ability of the National Laboratory, to carry out personnel training and energy saving technology pilot demonstration etc. As the main participate unit of the project, CSEI will be mainly involved in the revision of standards and regulations, upgrading the National Laboratory’s ability, and providing technical support for other activities. 

The implementation of the project will effectively promote the establishment of boiler safety, energy conservation and environmental protection, the trinity supervision system, and promote the development of energy-saving equipment in China"s high energy consumption.
