Lin Shuqing, President of CSEI headed a delegation visited the ASME headquarter on October. 13. Lin Shuqing held a talk with Michael Merker, Associate Executive Director of Standards and Certification Department of ASME and Mark Sheehan, Managing Director of Standards and Codes Development of ASME, two sides exchanged in-depth views on the next step cooperation.
Lin Shuqing initially expressed his gratitude to ASME for their reception of training interns from CSEI. Interns will specifically learn the ASME Standard management approaches including structural forms of organizations, operating models, standards development and revision, scientific research organizational patterns, standards information construction modes, etc, as well as discussed and communicated on China pressure equipment related codes and standards situation. Lin Shuqing pointed out that it was an effective mode to promote communication between the two sides, and suggested to maintain the mode for cooperation. The two sides also discussed in-depth jointed scientific researches. The CSEI interns in ASME will undertake the scientific research information liaison tasks, and try to explore cooperation in the research area of 13th-Five-Year-Plan research project. During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on the work progress of ASME China International Working Group.
After the talks, Lin Shuqing and Thomas Loughlin, Executive Director of ASME signed the ASME A17 Lift Standard Translation and Publication Authorization Agreement.
