The 14^th International Conference on Pressure Vessel Technology (ICPVT-14) was held in Shanghai from September 24 to 26, which hosted by Pressure Vessel Institution of China Mechanical Engineering Society and Asia- Pacific Regional Committee of International Council of Pressure Vessel Technology (ICPVT-AORC), and undertook by CSEI, East China University of Science and Technology and Hefei General Machinery Research Institute. Mr. Chen Gang, deputy minister of AQSIQ, Mr. Lin Shuqing, president of CSEI and relevant leaders attended the conference, over 500 experts and scholars from 18 countries, the division heads of Science & Technology Management Division, Pressure Vessel Division and Research & Development Center of CSEI also attended the conference.

Sponsored by International Council of Pressure Vessel Technology, the ICPVT series are large-scale international academic conferences that aimed to promote the communication and cooperation of the experts and scholars from international pressure vessel technology field. The topics of this conference include pressure vessel design & analysis, material and manufacture, nondestructive examination, operation maintenance, risk evaluation and management and the pressure vessel facing the challenge of new energy and environment.

There are 3 invited lectures and 18 domestic and foreign experts’ theme lectures in this conference, and 49 venues were set for the discussion of pressure vessel technology development and so on. Mr. Lin Shuqing participated in the discussion, and exchanged the views on China & World current safety management, inspection and testing and future development on pressure vessel. The responsible person from the relevant department of CSEI discussed with the domestic and foreign deputies on high temperature test & evaluation technology of pressure vessel material, fitness-for-service evaluation and longevity assessment technology and flange structure sealing & evaluation technology.

The success of holding ICPVT-14 has important significance for further enhancing the understanding between China and other countries, promoting the pressure vessel science, and technical communication & cooperation.
