Pressure Pipeline Division of CSEI and Shell (China) Co., Ltd. carried out communication on non-welded technology for pressure pipeline in the morning of May 8, 2013. Mr. Xiu Changzheng, Director of Pressure Pipeline and Gas Cylinder Department, SESA, AQSIQ, Mr. Shou Binan, Deputy President & Chief Engineer of CSEI attended the meeting. Mr. He Renyang, Director of Pressure Pipeline Division of CSEI hosted the meeting. Some related technical staff from SESA of AQSIQ, Shell (China) Co., Ltd., NOV Tuboscope, MCC TianGong Group Corporation Ltd. and CSEI also attended the meeting.

On behalf of CSEI, Mr. Shou Binan expressed welcome to the visitors and briefly introduced the basic condition of CSEI. Dr. Ben Chapman from Tuboscope and Mr. Mark Maier introduced non-welded technology for pressure pipeline and its application in Shell (China) Co., Ltd. successively. The attendees exchanged idea and discussed on the difficulty of this technology, the licensing required for the application of non-welded technology for pressure pipeline in China, as well as other related work.

Mr. Xiu Changzheng pointed on the meeting that the chief question for the application of non-welded technology for pressure pipeline is ensuring safety and reliability and should specifically confirm the applicable scope in pressure pipeline and the process quality control requirement. Mr. Shou Binan indicated that non-welded technology for pressure pipeline is a new technology, there’s still technical problem to be tackled in application, and technical standard should be formulated. He hope that CSEI could carry out research and development on this technology together with Shell (China ) Co., Ltd.
